A Day in the Life of a Managed Services Consultant
Investing in a Managed Services partner is like investing in a personal help desk. You’ll have a one-stop knowledge base for support in a plethora of situations. Our consultants have the Salesforce, Pardot, Marketo, and Steelbrick expertise that could challenge that of an online knowledge database, and then some. The question really is, what do you actually get out of a Managed Services engagement? To give you some insight, here’s an example of what a day in the life of an OpFocus Managed Services consultant looks like.
9am – 10am
• Check-in call with Acme to discuss new custom price quoting initiative that Acme management is looking to implement in Salesforce using SteelBrick
10am – 11am
• Configure and test new Account and Contact validation rules in the Salesforce sandbox that Globex requested earlier in the week
11am – 12pm
• Review the Excel file and mapping criteria that Umbrella Corp emailed me for importing new collection of leads
• Import leads into Umbrella Corp’s Salesforce instance
12pm – 12:30pm
• Screensharing call with OpFocus developer and Initech’s developer to debug an error with legacy apex code in Salesforce
12:30pm – 2pm
• Meet with OpFocus’ Acme project manager to brainstorm possible solutions for Acme’s new custom price quoting initiative
• Create design document about possible Salesforce and SteelBrick solutions for Acme management to review and approve
2pm – 3pm
• Screensharing call with Wayne Enterprises Marketing team to train users on viewing prospect lists in Pardot, and the steps they’ll need to take in order to convert leads in Salesforce
3pm – 3:30pm
• Meet with OpFocus’ Globex project manager to discuss and review the validation rules just created in their Salesforce sandbox
• Discuss new workflow requests that Globex contact just sent to the project manager
3:30pm – 4pm
• Email Gringotts about the new features from Salesforce’s Winter ’16 release that you think would be beneficial for their system to have
4pm – 5pm
• Screensharing call with Stark Industries’ Salesforce system administrator to discuss best practices when using the Dataloader tool for mass updating records in Salesforce
As you can see, a Managed Services partner has the potential to help your business with everything from validation rule configuration, data cleansing and apex coding to strategic guidance and training. Your marketing and IT teams can’t be experts in everything, so we’re here to be the extension of those teams, at a much lower cost than adding additional full-time resources.
